The Essentials Box

Updated: Oct 22, 2018

Everyone knows that moving can be frustrating. There’s so much to be done, often times within a set schedule, but you want to take your time to make sure that you haven’t left anything behind, and that everything is organized so that the unloading process is a little more convenient. There is a lot of stress during a move, but there doesn’t have to be! At Centurion Moving and Storage, our goal is to make your move as easy and efficient as possible. We provide professional moving services in Pennsylvania and New Jersey that will take a little bit of that stress (and all of the heavy lifting) off your back.

Along with our crating, packing, and moving services, we’d like to help in any other way we can, so in our blog posts, we’ll be providing helpful tips and advice that will have your move go a little smoother. In this post, we’re going to bring up the “essential box” that you need to set aside before moving to your new location, and what you should have in it. If you’re ready to get your move on, don’t hesitate to contact our moving company today!

The Essential Box

During the hustle and bustle of getting everything out of your old house, and having it ready to move into your new one, your brain might get a little fried and you forget that you’ll need certain items for the first night at your new location. Countless times, people pack up their necessary things in a box and then forget which said box they put it in. So if you’re currently on a break from packing to read this blog, go ahead and slide an empty box to the side and mark it “essential”, for you might need these things when you get to your new home. You’re going to want it by your side. Here’s what to pack:

  • Toiletries - Especially if you get to your new home after dark, you’re not going to want to sift through your boxes just to find your toothbrush, toothpaste, facewash, and the like. So go ahead and throw all of your necessary toiletries in the box!

  • Extra Clothes - For yourself, and especially if you have young children, be sure to pack an extra set of clothes and pajamas. You’re going to want to be comfortable your first night, especially after such a long day. So in case of rain or snow, have a dry set of clothes, and pajamas are always comfortable!

  • Vital ID’s/Records - Our moving crew will take extra care to ensure that everything gets safely to the destination. But in case of an emergency en route to your house, make sure to have all of your family’s important documents on hand such as passports, birth certificates, etc.
